What's already in place

Your team has access to at least one paid AI tool (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Plus/Team, Claude Pro/Team, or similar). At least one person on your team uses AI in their daily work. You can name a specific workflow where you suspect AI could help.

Documentation & process

Your most repeatable workflows are written down somewhere, even informally. A new employee could be onboarded on those processes without you in the room. You can identify which tasks consume the most staff time.

Team & leadership

The owner or leader is personally curious about AI — not just hearing about it from elsewhere. You could free up two to three hours of someone's week for learning. Your team is open to changing how they do certain tasks.

Honest constraints

You can identify at least one workflow where mistakes are recoverable — a safe place to start. You have — or could set aside — a budget for an adoption engagement in the next six months.

The scoring rubric

8–11 checks: You're ready for The Adoption Sprint. The conditions are right. Pick the most painful repeatable workflow and rebuild it with AI in six to ten weeks. And if you're already past a first rollout, The Embedded Partner is how it keeps growing.
5–7 checks: Start with The Diagnostic. There are foundations to address before a full rollout — usually around documentation or champion selection. Two weeks to map the right starting point.
Under 5 checks: Start with the basics. Pick one tool, get one person trained, document one workflow. We can help, but six months of self-paced fundamentals will usually serve you better first.

A note on the score

This isn't a precision instrument. It's a mirror.

If you scored a 6 but you know exactly the workflow you'd hand to AI and you have a champion ready to go — book the Sprint anyway.

If you scored a 9 but no one on your team actually wants this — the Diagnostic conversation might surface that and save you from a misfire.

The point of this assessment is to make the conversation with us, or anyone else, sharper. It's not a gate.
